The story
Irina Krupovich came to cycling late and went straight up. Two years in, she has built a following on the back of one thing above all: climbing. Living in Cannes puts the Alpes-Maritimes on her doorstep, and she has spent those two years working through them and then further afield, collecting the summits that most riders talk about doing one day.
She has ridden both L'Étape du Tour and L'Étape du Tour Femmes, and was invited to ride the opening stage route of the Vuelta in Monaco ahead of the race.
It is a useful reminder of who a frame like this is actually built for. Not only riders with twenty seasons behind them — also the ones two years in who have found the thing they want to be good at, and want a bike laid up for the way they ride rather than the way the average rider does.
