SWI is the only custom frame builder who tailors the carbon lay up of each frame to the individual rider based on the rider’s weight, power output and desired ride feel.
When this is combined with our unique use of a Unishell Monocoque Frame we believe this delivers the best combination of geometric accuracy, comfort and reactivity that it is possible to create.
To deliver the required stiffness to comfort ratio we adjust the number of TPTTM carbon layers in key areas of the frame (e.g bottom bracket, head tube, chain stays). This is possible because 1mm of TPTTM carbon textile has 14 layers of carbon verses the 5 layers of standard carbon fiber – we therefore have considerable freedom to adjust the number of layers to meet the rider’s desired ride feel.
Every SWI frame is 100% geometrically accurate as there is no frame assembly. A SWI frame comes out of the mould in one uninterrupted carbon shell, unlike traditional custom frame builders or modular monocoque manufacturers who have to glue tubes & lugs or front & rear triangles together.
We offer our frames in very close increments (50cm, 52cm, 54cm, 56cm, 58cm, 60cm), therefore provided the rider has had a proper bike fit we can fit 90% of riders with adjustments of the seatpost, saddle set back, handlebar drop, stem length.
To dial in a precise fit riders can select from multiple size options of our proprietary integrated aero gullwing bar and stem which weighs only 360g (420 x 110mm):
Handlebar: 380mm, 400mm, 420mm
Stem: 90mm, 100mm, 110mm, 120mm, 130mm
Further fit adjustment is available by choosing between our 0mm or 20mm offset SWI seatpost.
The standard design highlights the raw carbon on the bottom half of the frame and leaves the top half of the frame for the rider to choose their colour.
This is included in the price of the frameset. Riders can choose from the following colours: Black, Dark Red, Dark Blue, Dark Purple, Dark Green, Silver.
You can also choose to have your own personal graphic design and colour choice which you would develop in partnership with our design team.
Our aim is to create a collaborative and enjoyable process to welcome you into the SWI family.
The build process starts with an introductory call. During this call we will answer any questions you have and take some initial details. We will then make a first assessment of the right carbon lay-up and frame size for you.
This is followed by the ‘Build call’ where we will have a more in-depth discussion in order that your frame builder can really understand more about the type of bike you are looking for.
In collaboration with you we will then complete the Build Specifications Document. Once this is complete and approved by you the frame building starts in our workshop in Padua and lasts up to 60 days.
Upon completion we will deliver direct to your home or preferred bike shop. Alternatively, we can welcome you at our facility in Padua, where we will show you the production process, present you your frameset / bike, go for a ride around the hills of Bassano Del Grappa, before finishing the day with some wine tasting and a team dinner to welcome you to the SWI family.
